MAX Marie Design Academy is a creative design academy that provides the tools, technique, and resources for you to become successful on your designing journey. We do this using a hands-on collaborative approach, tailored to multiple learning styles. Our mission is curated through the need of easily accessible opportunities to learn new skills, such as sewing. 


 

The vision of MMD Academy is to produce a network of creative entrepreneurs who have the luxury to design their life and leave a strong legacy. We will achieve this by being a resource of connections, knowledge , and skills pertaining to sewing and putting our students in position to succeed not only for themselves but also their loved ones.

Back To Basics 
4 Week Sewing Course

In this course you will learn how to operate a sewing machine and the basics necessities of sewing, including how to thread a needle and bobbin, how to manage tension, and various stitching techniques. 

Students will 

  • Learn the parts of the sewing machine

  • Learn basic principles of sewing

  • Learn how to manage tension control

  • Practice sewing different stitches & hemming techniques

  • How to change needle & presser foot

  • Fabric identification and how to sew them

  • How to add on buttons

  • How to press fabric

Whats Included : MMD Academy will provide sewing machine, tools/equipment , Sewing Course Booklet , and tote bag pattern. Students are welcomed to bring their own sewing machine. This is a group class of 4 students. This class is intended for ages 10+.

*** Student is responsible for bringing 2 yards of fabric for the tote bag. We will discuss fabric in class before we start final project.

Final Project Options:

Creating a pattern and sewing a Tote Bag

Creating a pattern from your favorite t-shirt and recreating the t-shirt

Course Cost: $220

Private Sewing Lessons

Private Sewing lessons are for the student who would like to learn the basics of sewing in a 1on1 setting. This is also great if you're a student who has experience working with the sewing machine and wishes to expand their skills in sewing.

MMD will create a customized sewing course specific to how you want to advance your sewing skills. 

Private Sewing Lessons classes are 2 hrs, and there are 4 classes per session.

We now offer Virtual classes for private sewing lessons!

Class Time Options:

Sundays - 12PM - 2 PM 

Wednesday - 12PM - 2PM

Regestration is Open for May  Session with classes Beginning the first week of May.

*** We have 2 Private Lesson seats available per month and the time options to pick are available based on registration order.
